Initial Appointment

Preparing for your first visit varies based on your referral reason. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to research out to the clinics administration.

Medication Guidelines

Do not stop antihistamines if you are being referred for MCAS and symptomatic off. or if you are referred for recurrent hives/urticaria.
Continue asthma preventers and eczema medications. Nasal sprays can be used as usual.

Consultation Process

During your consultation, we will discuss your symptoms and medical history to tailor a treatment plan that suits your specific allergy needs.

At times skin testing maybe required. If it is felt appropriate the type of agents tested will be discussed. We do not have skin testing for everything so at times brining in what the concern is maybe required.

Follow-Up Care

If follow up appointment/s are required this will be discussed at the time. A letter will be sent to your referrer with a cc to other clinicians as requested. The letter will also be sent to yourself.

A patient summary will also be created if needed and emailed to yourself.

What to bring to the appointment.

Please bring in:

A symptoms diary if relevant.
A list of all current medications, including dosage, frequency of use etc. This includes over the counter, herbal, creams/lotions etc.
Any discharge summaries if relevant.
Pathology tests results if relevant. This could include tryptase, Full Blood count, Auto immune tests, previous blood allergy tests (known as Specific IgE or RAST).
Previous skin prick testing results if performed.
Lung function tests if performed.
Anything else that you feel is relevant.
List of questions you may have.
